THE STORY BEHIND OF LOGO
SHOCHOCH TRADING logo is inspired by nature and reflects the balanced interconnectedness of nature’s biodiversity. It is a simple, functional beauty that inspires our product sourcing ethos and the organic products we export. The name ‘SHOCHOCH’ refers to the bird on our logo and pronounce as ‘COC’OC’ in the local Bench language. As the symbol of our brand, the tree symbolizes the importance of the forest for the survival of other biodiversity in and around the forest while the leaf on the ground helps the forest ground from erosion and help the trees more sustainable. The place where the Shochoc bird stand is a mountain which grows natural products such as coffee (which the bird holds in its mouth), honey, spices, and fruits to name a few.
The Shochoc bird is an interactive and friendly bird in the Bench Sheko Zone. The bird influence tree growth by reducing the effect of folivorous arthropods and control of insect while playing an important role as seed dispersers in forests. This is an important element in influencing the genetic structure of tree populations. In addition, shadows from forest trees provide an ideal setting to grow forest coffees and spices while beehives can be place high in the tree canopies which allows the bees not only produce quality honey but also helps to pollenate different types of plants in the forest. The Shochoc bird also informs farmers the change in seasons and potential attack from predators such as snakes by reacting in a certain way. In return, forests provide food and nesting sites to name a few.
Our log serves as a daily reminder that we need to help protect the places we love and every action, big or small, makes a difference. As our trade name indicates, SHOCHOCH TRADING understands and support the conservation of biodiversity to ensure sustainable livelihoods through environmentally friendly business practices and consumer behavior.
