Our Honey

At Shochoch Trading Plc, we take pride in offering premium honey sourced through two key methods: from our outgrower smallholder farmers and our dedicated investment project. Our commitment to quality and sustainability ensures that we provide the finest honey while supporting our community.

Sourcing Methods

• Outgrower Smallholder Farmers: We collaborate with thousands of smallholder farmers, providing them with training and essential honey production and harvesting materials. This empowers them to enhance their production and improve their livelihoods.

• Investment Project: We manage a 40-hectare wild forest designated for organic honey production. Within this forest, we have established 1,500 modern beehives. Supported by the Canadian government, we receive training from senior apiculture expert Mr. Peter John Keating, ensuring best practices in honey production.

Our Honey Varieties

• Specialty Organic Honey: Produced at our investment site, this honey is crafted under strict organic standards, offering unique flavors and health benefits.

• Conventional Honey: We also process a significant amount of conventional honey that is organic by default, catering to local markets.

Unique Offerings

• Coffee Honey: This specialty honey is produced during the coffee flowering season when bees extract nectar from coffee flowers, resulting in a rich, aromatic honey.

• Forest Honey: Sourced from various wildflowers in the jungle forest, this honey reflects the diverse flora of our region.

• Garden Honey: Harvested from bees foraging around farmers’ homes, this honey features nectar from local trees, grains, and fruits, offering a delightful taste of the surrounding environment.

Our Commitment

We prioritize sustainable practices and fair trade principles in all our honey production. By empowering local farmers and promoting environmental stewardship, we strive to uplift our community while delivering high-quality honey products. Experience the rich flavors of our honey and savor the essence of Ethiopian agriculture in every drop!
